What does it mean to be a covenant partner

A covenant partner is who you become when you are ready to call Saginaw Valley Community Church your home church. We want you to stay planted in a place that will give you the proper spiritual and natural growth necessary for your walk as a Christian.

What is Saginaw Valley Community Church’s mission

Passion for God leads us to seek after Him with desperate hearts, knowing only in Him can we become complete.

Love for people leads us to become an apostolic center, to reach the lost, bring them to Christ, then disciple and equip them for release into the work of the ministry.

Our passion for God leads us to depend upon the Holy Spirit’s power and His ministry to draw us into intimacy with our Father through praise, worship and the power of His Word to enable us to become a house of prayer and a light to the community.

Our love for people brings a desire to strengthen marriages, encourage families and raise up all ages from the youngest to the eldest to become mighty warriors of God. We have a strong mission’s outreach, both locally and throughout the world, and we seek to partner with like-minded churches in our region to bring about His kingdom and His will.

What is Saginaw Valley Community Church’s beliefs

We believe the Scriptures are infallible, inerrant, and the sole and final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

Eternal God-head

We believe in the Eternal God-head who has revealed Himself as One God existing in Three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, distinguishable but indivisible. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Creation and Fall of Man

We believe in the creation and the fall of man, and his total spiritual depravity as recorded in Genesis. (Romans 5:12, 18)

Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, Son of God and Son of Man. (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14-18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6)

Death and Resurrection of Christ

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared unto His disciples. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25)

Christ’s Return

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to Heaven, His exaltation, and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for His Church. (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11)

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Eternal Godhead thus fulfilling the command of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:34-36; 19:1-6)

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the operation of all the Gifts of the Spirit listed in the Scriptures. (Romans 12; Ephesians 4; 1 Corinthians 12-14)

Spirit-filled Life

We believe in the Spirit-filled life; a life of separation from the world thus expressing the true Christian faith. (Ephesians 5:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14, 7:1)

Physical Healing

We believe in the healing of the body by Divine power, as practiced in the Early Church. (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14)

The Lord’s Supper

We believe in the table of the Lord, commonly called the Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for all believers. (1 Corinthians 11:28-32; Matthew 26:26-28)

Holy Spirit Baptism

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a real and separate experience from the New Birth. (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15)

Love One Another

We believe it is our responsibility to love and care for all mankind, especially those in the body of Christ. (Galatians 6:10)

We believe in the existence of Satan and his principalities and their eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:14, 15)

Body of Christ

We believe that there is one true Body of Christ made up of genuine believers, but that the Body of Christ is also composed of many local churches in given localities. These Churches are under the sovereign Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him, administering all local affairs and ministry, as well as propagation of the Gospel. (Acts 15:22; Matthew 16:1-8; 18:15-20)

Sanctity of Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a holy union between man and woman. (Genesis 2:23, 24; Hebrews 13:4) We believe sex was created by God to be between man and woman, in the sanctity of marriage. (1 Corinthians 6:9)

Sanctity of Life

We believe that human life begins with God’s creation at conception and that we are created in God’s image. This value and dignity cannot be debated or compromised by man at any time. (Psalms 139:13)
